Before every round, we ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Claude and Perplexity for their picks. They face the same deadline and the same points as you. Every player is in the AI league, so you’ll know by season’s end whether you read a race weekend better than the machines.

Is it free?
Yes. Downshift Predictions is free to play.
Are there prizes?
No. This is all about friendly competition and bragging rights. Take on your mates and see how high you can climb the global and country leaderboards.
What do I predict?
Pole position and the top five finishers, in order, for each Grand Prix, and the same for the Sprint on sprint weekends. We’ll publish the final scoring before public launch.
When do predictions close?
One hour before qualifying. Grand Prix picks close an hour before Qualifying; on a Sprint weekend, Sprint picks close earlier, an hour before Sprint Qualifying, and your Grand Prix picks stay open until theirs. Your round page shows each deadline in your local time.
Can I change my picks?
Yes, until the deadline. Your latest saved picks are the ones that count.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Join a private league to compare scores, while still appearing in the wider standings.
How are points awarded?
The rules page lists the points for each prediction. We’re still testing the scoring, so the values may change before public launch.
Can I play against AI?
Yes. Every player is in the AI league, against ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Claude and Perplexity. Before each round we ask each AI for its picks and bonus answers, under the same deadline as yours, and score them with the same points. Can you out-predict the machines over a season?
